Martha Vick Passes The Baton To Robin Williams

Wilson Education Partnership- Newsletter

Dear Friends,

My tenure as the staff of WEP is just about over.  I am retiring on June 30 after 20 ½ years of service as the executive director.   My entire 38-year career has been invested in nonprofit organizations.  I came to Wilson County in 1979 to work as a 4-H Agent with the Cooperative Extension Service.  That job led me to the Tobacco Farm Life Museum as director when it opened in 1986.  Both of these positions provided experiences and knowledge that prepared a strong foundation for my work over the past two decades with WEP.

I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve our schools and our community.  I’ve had the honor of meeting and working with some of the best people in the world, right here in Wilson County.  To all the businesses, donors, supporters, educators, community organizations, elected officials, and collaborating partners who have invested time, talents and treasures when I asked, I sincerely say “Thank You”.  I must acknowledge the wonderful, dedicated volunteers who have served on the WEP Board of Directors with me – they truly are the heart and muscle of our organization.

It’s time for me to pass the baton to the next leader.  I am excited to welcome  who officially becomes the WEP executive director on July 10.  Robin grew up here in Wilson County and has lived and worked in our community for many years.  She is enthusiastic about this new opportunity and passionate about WEP.  Please embrace her energy and encourage her with your support.

I’ll be watching the race now from the sidelines, and cheering for Robin and the WEP board.  I look forward to seeing what the future holds!

With gratitude,

Martha Vick
