We ARE Giving Away the Store! (Dream Daze Comics)

The first Saturday in May is a very special day in the world of comics. Especially at a local comic book store. Since 2002 comic retailers have been giving away free cooks to new readers, lost readers and anyone who comes into the store!

This year DreamDaze Comics Fun and Games, located in Wilson in the Shoppes of \Brentwood, will be hosting their first free Comic Book day celebration. Affectionately known as DDCFG, DreamDaze will be giving everyone who walks through the door on Saturday may 6th a brand new comic book, for free. Comics available range from classic cartoons, to Manga, to superheroes even adult horror. Here is a book for everyone. Publishers including Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse and other independents offer a special edition comic book to specialty retailers at cost, to be given away to customers on that day only.

Each store chooses how they want to participate each year, and DDCFG has invited Wilson County Public Library to join the celebration. The library will be at DDCFG from 11-2, giving away a comic book as well, so customers are guaranteed at least 2 new books to take home with them.  Being co-owned by a librarian DDCFG is all about getting books in the hands of readers, so this is a very special day for us. Also attending will be local comic book creator Brian Wingrove! His Bear Butt Comics are available for purchase and he will be happy to sign them for you.    Also visiting are cosplay artist Wolf and Fox, who will be hanging out answering any questions you may have on creating your cosplay character. Cosplay has long been a part of the geek comic culture, and everyone is invited to dress as their favorite comic character while visiting DreamDaze on Saturday.  In fact wearing a costume earns you a third free book.

Giving back is part of what we do as comic book retailers, so additional books can be earned by bringing a nonperishable food item for Hope Station and for contributing to the Heroes Initiative! (a nonprofit dedicated to helping comic creators in need).
