Wilson County Website Makeover

Wilson County Government’s home on the web is completely different starting June 30, 2017 when the county launched a new public website. http://www.wilson-co.com

“We have been working extremely hard behind the scenes to develop a site that represents Wilson County and Wilson County Government,” said Ron Hunt, assistant county manager.  “I think the finished product is something that we can all be proud of. Our technology services and our web team members from each department have been great to work with.”

The county moves from the company CivicPlus to Vision Internet in July.  Vision has been working with staff to understand the needs of Wilson County Government and how we would like to connect with our citizens.  Everything from the colors to fonts and menus has been examined before the final site came together.

“The constant feedback that we get is that citizens find our website easy to use,” said Ryan Hayes, technology services director. “So the challenge was to maintain what citizens love about our current site and present it in a way that shows our county’s positive and progressive government.”

The site offers current pictures that showcase Wilson County’s economic commitment, quality of life, and government functions.  Quick buttons will offer easy access to online options and a new transparency button for public notices and budget and financing information. News, Meeting and Event are all on the front page.  The site is easy to use on your computer, smart phone or tablet and adjusts according to your device.

“The new site is exciting, it’s fresh and it showcases all of the positive attributes of Wilson County and the vital services of Wilson County Government,” said Denise Stinagle, county manager.  “We want to meet our citizens where they are and today we know that is on their mobile devices.  This site allows us to expand into this area.  It will continue to grow with us.”

As with anything new, we know that we will need to fine tune parts of the site.  We ask for your patience and feedback in the weeks ahead.  We are excited and hope you are as well!
